Christmas Presents with a little more thought (and a little less cost)
They aren’t all stationery but you’ll spot the theme ......
There are lots of ‘definitive’ lists out there this week telling us what to give those tricky green-fingered, sporty gourmets in your family but they can be a little repetitive and, sometimes a bit pricey. We, of course, think that some stunning stationery is the perfect gift for mother, sister, uncle, father, mother-in-law, godchild, grandchild - well pretty much everyone in your family - but if, perhaps you gave it to last year and need to think of something else we’ve had a look around, chatted to friends and come up with a few clever ideas that we think you, and they, will like.
We may be a bit late to the party with this one but think it is the most fabulous idea. A Book subscription - and we found one with a slight twist. It’s from “Date Night” and is called “Date Night with a book (3 books)”. You fill in information on the kind of book your recipient enjoys and then, at timely intervals, they receive a book in that genre along with hot chocolate and a coaster for your mug. Curl up on the sofa and enjoy.
Ottolenghi’s new book “Simple” - £25.00 for a signed copy.
If they love to cook and you thought you might like to buy them the latest Ottolenghi cook book “Simple” - and we love a bit of Otto - why not buy them a signed copy and make up a small hamper with all the tricky ingredients the cook might not be able to find in their local supermarket - Za’atar, Sumac, Preserved Lemons and Pomegranate Molasses won’t break the bank and you’ve made sure the delights of this book can be produced on boxing day!
We think this is a brilliant, thoughtful present idea. If you have had a special, shared experience with the recipient over the year and have got great photos to share they will love it too. There are plenty of companies you can go to. We use Photobox because its simple, quick and they offer great discounts. An A4 Classic photobook is £29.99 at full price but they always have great discount offers so register and you will receive discount offers every week (and sometimes it feels like everyday!). At time of going to press there was a 50% discount code offer running - just add BOOKS50
in Cambridge Blue (they call it mint but we definitely call it Cambridge Blue!). We are in love with these pens and we think you or anyone you give them to will love them too. They are inexpensive and SO useful. It is a classic - “The chunky, octagonal profile gives this pen a presence in the hand making it a joy to write with"
(and is perfect when twinned with Grace correspondence cards printed in our Clever Blue ink to match like these ones ...)
And finally here are a few ideas for clever little stocking fillers from us at Grace Paper .....
For the younger members of your family what about our Vintage Postcards £8.00 (pack of 10)
These are blank on the reverse so they can either write or draw a little thank-you picture - not too much space to fill in.
Or, to take care of those ‘thank you’ letters our blue on blue
“Thank you” cards £14.00 for 10 cards with envelopes.
For the green fingered members of your family our
envelopes make a lovely stocking filler.
If after all that you still haven’t
found the perfect gift what about a Grace Gift Voucher.
We will send you a gorgeous voucher with lots of samples
so they can choose their own stationery colours,
styles and formats - what’s not to like. Grace Gift Voucher
Happy shopping & Happy Christmas xx
